Two Maoists killed in Chhattisgarh
June 7th, 2011 - 12:40 am ICT by IANSRaipur, June 6 (IANS) Two Maoists were killed Monday in a gun battle with police in Chhattisgarh’s restive Bastar region.
The gunfight took place in a forested pocket in Narayanpur district, about 280 km south of state capital Raipur.
“It was a brief but fierce firefight when a police team raided a meeting site of the Maoists. Two cadres of the Maoists’ military wing were killed,” an officer at the police headquarters here told IANS.
Police said two pistols, explosives and Maoist literature were recovered from the spot.
