Two Manipuri militants arrested in Goa
August 3rd, 2010 - 11:36 pm ICT by IANSPanaji, Aug 3 (IANS) Two members of a Manipur-based militant group have been arrested in Goa, police said Tuesday.
Navren Manimohan Singh, 36 and Shahid Rashid, 32, of the United National Liberation Front (UNLF) were arrested from two separate locations in the state late Monday night, Superintendent of Police (Criminal Investigation Department) Atmaram Deshpande told reporters.
“They were arrested with the help of the Manipur Police. Both are wanted in connection with a attempt to murder case there (Manipur) booked this year,” Deshpande said.
While Singh was arrested at an industrial estate in Ponda, 30 km from here, where he was working as a casual labourer, Rashid was picked up from a hotel at Arpora, 15 km from here, where he was employed.
