Two killed in crude bomb explosion in Uttar Pradesh
December 5th, 2009 - 4:54 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Lucknow, Dec 5 (IANS) Two people were killed while three others were injured critically when a crude bomb exploded Saturday in an Uttar Pradesh village, police said.
Satyendra and Moni, both in their early 30s, died on the spot as the bomb exploded in Kinauni village of Shahpur town in Muzaffarnagar district, some 350 km from Lucknow.
“Preliminary investigations reveal the two men (Satyendra and Moni), both relatives, were involved in illegal manufacturing and supply of crude bombs,” Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Tyagi told reporters.
“The accident took place when they were examining one of their bombs, outside their hideout in Kinauni village,” he added.
A police constable and two locals, who were injured in the accident, are being treated at a hospital in Muzaffarnagar.
