Two killed for practising witchcraft
January 2nd, 2011 - 11:37 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Jan 2 (IANS) Two people, including a woman, were killed for practising witchcraft in Jharkhand’s Gumla district, police said Sunday. No one has yet been arrested.According to police, the two dead bodies were found buried on a river bank near Jolo village of the district, around 140 km from Ranchi.
The victims were identified as Tulsi Oraon and Ganduri Mundain.
Villagers informed police that they were killed on charges of practising witchcraft.
According to official data, more than 700 people have been killed for indulging in witchcraft in the last 10 years.
