Two killed, eight hurt in Orissa boat capsize
December 3rd, 2009 - 11:00 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (IANS) At least two people were killed and eight others injured when a boat carrying 11 people capsized in a reservoir in Orissa’s Jagatsinghpur district, police said Thursday.
The boat capsized in the reservoir of Paradip Phosphate Limited in the port town of Paradip, about 120 km from here at about 7.30 p.m. Wednesday, sub-divisional police officer S.K. Das told IANS.
The mishap occurred when some employees of the company were taking a boat ride with their families.
The people who sustained injuries are undergoing treatment in a local hospital. A minor boy is still missing and efforts are on to locate him, he said.
