Patiala (Punjab), Sep 24 (IANS) Two militants of terrorist outfit Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) were arrested from this Punjab district Thursday, officials said.
With these arrests, police claimed to have solved the murder of Rashtriya Singh Sangat (RSS) Punjab chief Rulda Singh.

“We had laid a trap to arrest them on a specific tip-off from our source. We have arrested Jagmohan Singh and Darshan Singh, who are natives of Bassi Pathana town in Fathehgarh Sahib district,” Patiala Deputy Inspector General (DIG) S.K. Asthana told reporters here.

The two terrorists were arrested from Ratkhera village on Patiala-Sirhind road in the district, 70 km from state capital Chandigarh.

“Police have recovered a point .32 pistol from their possession. During interrogation, Jagmohan has admitted to shooting Rulda Singh over certain ideological differences,” said Asthana.

Rulda Singh was shot July 29 in Patiala and he succumbed to his injuries at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh last month.

“These militants had killed Rulda Singh on the directions of Paramjit Singh Pamma of the UK and BKI terrorist Jagtar Singh Tara,” said a police official.

BKI activist Tara was arrested by Chandigarh police for his involvement in the assassination of the then Punjab chief minister Beant Singh but later escaped from Burail jail.
