New Delhi, June 1 (IANS) Two students of journalism were killed in a train accident on the outskirts of the capital, the police said Sunday. Manish Singhla, a 19-year old from Shalimar Bagh, and Arshad, a 20-year-old from Jamia Nagar, came under the wheels of a train after they jumped from one railway track to another to avoid another train near Badarpur Saturday evening.
The police said their bodies could be identified only Sunday.
The two were first-year students of a bachelor’s degree course in journalism and mass communication with the Jagannath Institute of Management Studies at Mathura Road. They were working on a class assignment, shooting a documentary on railway tracks. After completing their shoot, they were walking on the tracks.
