Two injured as Blueline bus hits four vehicles

New Delhi, April 9 (IANS) Two people sustained injuries when a speeding Blueine bus rammed into four vehicles in south Delhi Wednesday evening. The mishap occurred near the Savitri Cinema, when the driver of the speeding bus, plying on Route No 540 between Tara Apartments and the Central Secretariat, lost control over the vehicle. The bus first hit two auto-rickshaws and then a motorcyclist and a cyclist.

The bus finally came to a halt after colliding with a wall.

The police said two people suffered injuries and one of them was stated to be in a critical condition. The injured could not be identified till late in the evening.

“The bus driver has managed to flee,” a police official said.

The privately owned Blueline buses, dubbed “killer buses”, caused 120 deaths on the roads of the capital last year, and the toll so far this year has reached 20.
