Kolkata, March 12 (IANS) A court in North 24-Parganas district sent two youths to 14-day custody after they were arrested for circulating objectionable photos of a girl through MMS, police said Saturday.

“Asif Ahamed and Saddam Siddqui were arrested Friday from new Barrackpore railway station following a Class 12 girl’s complaint with the Barrackpore police station in the district,” said North 24-Paraganas additional police superintendent Dhrubajyoti Dey.

The youths, residents of central Kolkata, got introduced with the girl through a newspaper advertisement for making friends. Asif met the girl and sometime later a relationship developed between them.

But when the girl refused to marry him, Asif started blackmailing her, saying he would circulate all her objectionable photographs in his possession.

Asif gave the photographs to his friend Saddam, who later forced the girl into an illegitimate relationship. The girl finally lodged the complaint, said Dey.

“The youths were presented before Barrackpore court Friday afternoon and remanded in judicial custody for 14 days,” said Dey.
