Islamabad, Feb 5 (IANS) A rocket slammed into the house of a journalist in Pakistan’s restive North Waziristan tribal region, injuring two children.
Pakistani forces and suspected Taliban rebels exchanged fire in the area late Saturday night and one rocket hit the home of the journalist in Miranshah, reported Xinhua.
Haji Pazir Gul, who works for private TV channels in Miranshah, said that his two grandsons were injured. They are in stable condition, Gul said on phone from Miranshah.
He said the rocket caused damage to parts of his home.
Correspondents in the region said that the security forces and Taliban militants routinely exchange fire at night. Militants fire rockets at the security check posts from mountains, which trigger response from the forces.
