New Delhi, March 15 (IANS) Two people were arrested Tuesday with fake Indian currency worth Rs.2 lakh in west Delhi, police said, adding that the accused used to source the counterfeit notes from Nepal.

The two have been identified as Kausar Ali, 32 and Bhola Kumar, 20, both tailors and hailing from Bihar.

Counterfeit notes of Rs.500 and Rs.1,000 denominations, having a total face value of Rs.2 lakh, were recovered from them.

Ali, who has relatives in Nepal, used to go to Birganj in Nepal every month to procure fake currency. He had visited Nepal 10-12 times and brought Rs.2 lakh every time.

“The duo may be conduits of a gang used by the Pakistan intelligence agency. We believe counterfeit currencies are not printed in Nepal and are supplied by Pakistan’s ISI (Inter Services Intelligence),” said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand.
