Two held in Himachal, fake currency seized
October 11th, 2010 - 1:20 am ICT by IANSShimla, Oct 10 (IANS) Two people, both belonging to Bihar, were arrested Sunday in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla district for being involved in a fake currency racket, police said.
Counterfeit notes with a face value of Rs.186,000 were recovered from them.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the accused from Rohru town, some 120 km from here.
The fake currency recovered from them was in the denomination of Rs.1,000 and Rs.500, Deputy Superintendent of Police Shiv Kumar Chaudhary told IANS over telephone. The accused would be produced in a local court Monday.
