Two held for selling medicines illegally
June 27th, 2011 - 4:56 pm ICT by IANSLudhiana, June 27 (IANS) A father-and-son duo has been arrested here for selling medicines without a licence, police said Monday.
Drugs worth Rs.1 million (Rs.10 lakh) have been seized from Prem Chand, 52, and Mohan, 32.
“We raided a tea-shop in Pindi Street late Sunday. This shop was being run by Prem Chand and we had information that he was selling medicines without a licence,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Yurinder Singh Hayer said.
“We have seized hundreds of capsules, syrups bottles and injections,” he added.
Ludhiana, the industrial city of Punjab, is around 100 km from the state capital Chandigarh.
