May 10th, 2011 - 8:55 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 10 (IANS) Two people have been arrested here for murdering their friend as he did not return the money which he regularly borrowed from them, police said Tuesday.
Vikas, 24, and Inderjeet, 31, were arrested Monday.
“The deceased has been identified as Lalit, whose body was found riddled with bullets in the jungle opposite Nelson Mandela Marg (in south Delhi) around 8.30 p.m. on Sunday,” a police officer said.
“During interrogation, Inderjeet revealed that Lalit used to borrow money from him and Vikas but did not return it. He had also stolen the mobile phone of one of Inderjeet’s relatives. This led to a scuffle between them,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Chhaya Sharma said.
“Vikas and Inderjeet called Lalit to Nelson Mandela Marg and shot him dead with a country-made pistol,” Sharma added.
