Two held for murder of MGR’s relative

Chennai, Aug 23 (IANS) Two men were arrested in Bangalore and brought here in connection with the murder of A. Vijayan, a relative of late Tamil Nadu chief minister M.G. Ramachandran, the police said Saturday.The suspects, K. Balu and Dil Pandiyan, are being questioned at an undisclosed location, police sources said, alleging that the two were hired killers.

Vijayan was murdered in an upmarket southern suburb of Chennai two months ago, reportedly over a property dispute.

After a fortnight’s investigation by the city police, the case was transferred to the state’s criminal investigation department under the control of director general of police K.P. Jain.
