Two held for cheating
May 24th, 2011 - 1:14 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, May 23 (IANS) Two people, including a woman, were arrested from west Delhi for cheating people on the pretext of providing them household maids, police said Monday.
The accused have been identified as Rakesh, 25, and Kalpana.
“On May 21, Pramod Jain had complained that he had been cheated by a maid servant bureau of Rs. 15,000,” said a police officer.
“On May 20, Rajesh came to Jain’s house with Kalpana, who he passed off as a maid. He demanded Rs. 15,000 as commission from Jain and was given the sum. After half an hour, the maid ran away from the house and Rajesh’s mobile was found to be switched off,” said a police officer.
On receiving the complaint, police swung into action and arrested both the accused from Nawada area Saturday.
“During interrogation, Rajesh revealed that he used to run a maid service bureau in the past but came under heavy debt. So, he made a plan to make some quick money,” added the officer.
