Two guerrillas killed in Kashmir gun battle

Srinagar, Oct 23 (IANS) Two suspected guerrillas of the Hizbul Mujahideen were killed in a long drawn gun battle with security forces early Thursday, the police said.The shootout in Watlar village in north Kashmir Ganderbal district, some 30 km from here, erupted after soldiers of 5 Rashtriya Rifles cordoned off a house to flush out the suspected militants hiding there.

The gunfight started late Wednesday afternoon and continued past midnight before the guerrillas were killed, the police said. The house was destroyed in the exchange of fire.
