Two get death penalty for killing four people
March 16th, 2011 - 12:04 am ICT by IANSMahoba (Uttar Pradesh), March 20 (IANS) A local court in this Uttar Pradesh district Tuesday awarded death penalty to two men out of 22 convicted for murder of four people over a family dispute in an 11-year-old case.
The additional sessions judge (II) awarded the death penalty to Ishwardas and former village council chief Durgadeen. Ishwardas had connived with Durgadeen and others to kill his relative and three others over a family dispute.
Ishwardas, a native of Natarra village, and Durgadeen along with their accomplices had shot dead Shripat Pal and his three friends Dec 5, 2000.
“During investigations, in all 22 people were made accused in the case, of whom Ishwardas was the prime accused,” police Inspector Satyaveer Singh told reporters in Mahoba, some 300 km from Lucknow.
Four others were sentenced to life imprisonment, eight got 10 years imprisonment and the remaining eight were sent to four years in jail, he added.
