Two foreigners held for drug trafficking
October 13th, 2011 - 12:10 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 12 (IANS) Two foreign nationals, including a woman, were arrested in south Delhi for drug trafficking and contraband worth Rs.15 lakh was seized from them, police said Wednesday.
Cedrick Kanyeba, 26, who hails from Nigeria, and Cherry Samson, 20, who hails from Kensington in South Africa, were arrested from a spot on Aurobindo Marg Tuesday, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Ashok Chand.
Both of them were residing in the different parts of south Delhi. Police recovered 14 gram cocaine worth Rs.15 lakh from them, police said.
Kanyeba told police that he came to Delhi around two years ago and was exporting garments to Lagos, Nigeria, from here.
After occurring losses, he came in contact with a Nigerian drug trafficker and started supplying cocaine, he told police.
He came in contact with party girls and started supplying cocaine to them.
Samson told police that after completing somatology course from South Africa, he came to India about six months ago.
“Initially, Kanyeba worked as a hostess in a famous night club of a five-star hotel here. Two months ago she left her job. She was attending high-end social parties. She herself used cocaine and then she came in contact with people from high society and started supplying cocaine to them,” Chand said.
