Two factories gutted, no casualties
February 15th, 2011 - 11:36 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 15 (IANS) In two incidents Tuesday, two factories were gutted in fire, destroying property worth Rs.12 lakh in the capital, police said. No one was injured. In the first incident, a plastic factory caught fire in Paschim Vihar area of west Delhi around 8.30 a.m. Valuables worth Rs.5 lakh were destroyed.
“Around 12 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It took around one hour to douse the fire. No one was injured in the incident,” a fire brigade officer said.
In the second incident, valuables worth Rs.7 lakh were destroyed after a major fire engulfed a battery factory in Narela area of north Delhi around 10.30 a.m.
“Around 18 fire tenders were rushed to the spot. It took around 90 minutes to douse the fire,” said a fire brigade officer.
Electrical short circuit was suspected to be the cause of both accidents.
