New Delhi, June 6 (IANS) Two domestic helps allegedly looted Rs.2 million from the house of their employer, while the family was away shopping, and before escaping tore their photographs to avoid identification, the police said Friday. The Kohat Enclave house of Amit Kumar, who runs a garment factory in Mayapuri area, was ransacked when he was shopping in South Extension late Thursday.

The two accused - Munna, 25, and Ram Bahadur, 24 - were missing after the incident.

The police said the family returned home and found the front door of their two-storyed house open. Later, they discovered that cash and jewellery worth Rs.2 million were missing and the domestic helps absconding.

“We had kept the cash and jewellery for the marriage of my daughter but now it’s missing,” Kumar told the police.

The family had employed the servants without police verification.

The police said Bahadur was employed a fortnight ago while Munna was working for the family for the past three years.
