Two die in Pakistan suicide bombing (Lead)

Taliban Islamabad, Oct 28 (IANS) At least two policemen were killed and several injured Friday in a suicide attack on a police vehicle in the northwestern Pakistani province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a media report said.

The deafening blast took place at about 12.10 p.m. when a suicide bomber attacked a police vehicle carrying Station House Office Police Ajmir Shah in Nowshera, some 50 km east of Peshawar.

Shah and his driver were killed on the spot while several were injured, Xinhua reported citing a TV channel.

The media report did not say how the suicide attack was carried out.

The injured were in critical condition.

No group claimed responsibility for the blast.

Shah had received threats to his life by Pakistani Taliban as he had carried out operations against them.

He had foiled terror plots by arresting several militants.
