Two CRPF troopers injured in gun fight
December 20th, 2010 - 12:27 am ICT by IANSRanchi, Dec 19 (IANS) Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were injured in a gun battle with Maoists in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district Sunday, police said.”There was a joint operation of Jharkhand and Orissa police. Two CRPF personnel were injured and they have been airlifted to Ranchi for treatment,” Jharkhand Police spokesperson R.K. Mallik told IANS.
The gun battle took place in Ratamati village in Sarnda jungle of West Singhbhum district, some 160 km from Ranchi.
According to another police officer, the joint operation was launched Saturday.
Two Maoist guerrillas were gunned down in the joint operation Sunday in Orissa, he added.
