Two car lifters arrested
October 7th, 2010 - 9:59 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Oct 7 (IANS) The Ghaziabad Police arrested two car lifters from Indirapuram area and recovered two stolen vehicles from them, police said Thursday.
Those arrested — Ashwani Shukla and Arun alias Sonu — had completed graduation from the Footwear Design and Development Institute, Noida.
During regular checking on the national highway 24 Wednesday night, police stopped them while they were driving a Honda City car. Their behaviour raised suspicion, police said.
During interrogation, the two confessed to committing crimes like car-lifting. One nine mm pistol was also seized from them.
The youths said they wanted to lead a luxurious life for which they carried out criminal activities.
Ghaziabad Police had announced cash reward of Rs.5,000 each for the capture of the two.
