Two arrested with fake currencies in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, June 26 (IANS) Two people were arrested with fake currencies valued at Rs.100,000 in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district, the police said Thursday. “Tanvir and Shahansha were arrested in the Jalalpur locality of Jaunpur. The two have been booked under the National Security Act,” Jaunpur Superintendent of Police Chandra Prakash told IANS.

Jaunpur is 110 km from the state capital Lucknow.

The duo used to smuggle the counterfeit currencies from Nepal, the police said.
