Two arrested for selling fake medicines
August 26th, 2011 - 8:48 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 26 (IANS) Two people were arrested for allegedly selling spurious medicines and contraband worth over Rs.26 lakh recovered from them, police said Friday.
The accused were identified as Bhim Singh Tyagi, 48, who sold spurious medicines along with his accomplice Srinath Mudgil, 65.
“On interrogation, Tyagi disclosed that he got the spurious tablets packed from a unit located in Pilakhuwa (in Ghaziabad district). A raid was conducted and Mudgil was arrested,” a police officer said.
Police recovered a huge amount of fake drugs from their possession Thursday.
The racket was active in Delhi, Haryana, West Bengal and Bihar.
