New Delhi, June 28 (IANS) Two men were arrested Sunday for their suspected involvement in a south Delhi brawl in which some armed men stabbed to death two cousins, following which one of the attackers was lynched Friday, police said.
“Amit, 24, and Kuldeep, 23, who are residents of Chirag Dilli area, were arrested. However, eight people are still absconding,” a police officer said.

Vikas, 19, and Vijendra Sharma, 25, were killed late Friday when a group of over a dozen men, armed with knives and iron rods, barged into their house and attacked them.

The two were stabbed to death by the attackers before the victims’ families got hold of one of them, Sumit, who was lynched before police reached the spot.

According to police, it was a case of enmity between two communities and a heated argument between the youths of the communities at a wedding ceremony in the area eventually led to the brawl and the killings.

“Past rivalry among the two communities was the core issue for the fight, and there were some heated argument between them four days back. However, the argument between the young members dancing at the marriage ceremony Friday sparked the fire. Some people are under scanner and arrests will be made soon,” said Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chhaya Sharma.
