Two Afghan suicide bombers shot dead
September 25th, 2011 - 5:59 pm ICT by IANSKabul, Sep 25 (IANS) Two suicide bombers were gunned down by the police in an Afghan province, the authorities said Sunday.
Police in the Zabul province, 340 km south of Afghan capital Kabul, identified and shot dead two suicide bombers before they could explode their explosive devices Sunday, an interior ministry press release said.
“Two suicide bombers were attempting to target a government interest in Zabul’s provincial capital Qalat this (Sunday) morning but were identified by police at 8.10 a.m. and were shot dead,” Xinhua cited the press release as saying.
No one was hurt during the operation.
