New Delhi, April 24 (IANS) The death of Sathya Sai Baba, one of India’s most revered spiritual leaders, Sunday after prolonged illness, was a leading topic on micro-blogging site like Twitter, with his devotees throughout the world mourning his demise.

While many of his followers just posted links of media reports of his death, others used the site to express their condolences.

“Sathya Sai Baba had milions of followers all over the world. Their faith in him held them together. May God give them strength. RIP Baba,” tweeted Bollywood actor Anupam Kher.

“God sathya saibaba ki aatma ko shanti de,” said shahp28 (piyush shah).

“Spiritual-leader-Sathya-Sai-Baba-passes-away- The Times of India”, tweeted user Preshnaidu.

“Very sad to hear of the passing of Satya Sai baba .world will miss him..he will still live on in our hearts.om sathya sai Bhagawan….” said user vjkd123 (chaudhari vijay B)

“Tears, tributes as devotees mourn Sathya Sai in Puttaparthi,” posted sujithu (sujith uchil).

“Millions of devotees mourning loss of ‘living god’: The famous Indian spiritual leader Sathya Sai Baba, has died…” wrote hamsab (Abdul Quddoos).

“#rip Sathya Sai baba,” said YashMantha (Yash Mantha).

“Om Shri Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba attained Moksha. Baghavan Sri Sathya Baba will come back in 40 days,” posted V19essa (Vanessa N kumaran)

There were tweets from all over the world.

“Sathya Sai Baba passes away, leaving millions to grieve,” said ReikiPathorg (ReikiPath.org).

“Checking out “Revered Hindu guru Sathya Sai Baba dies at age 86″ on Humanity Healing Community,” said bluebirdflyaway (Darlene).

“Um dos mais influentes gurus indianos, Sathya Sai Baba, morre aos 84 anos e eu ri do nome dele rsrs,” said nationalhazard (Marcos Oliveira).

“Love All, Serve All; Help Ever, Hurt Never. - RIP Sathya Sai Baba”, tweeted winghoonglurve (Wing Hoong)

Some tweeters focussed on his accomplishments and his teachings.

There were also some who focussed on the aftermath.

“#sathyasaibaba who’s the successor. Bala sathya sai baba is already to grab the fame.???” said leo_says (pritish leo).

Negative tweets earned a rebuke from his devotees.

“Those who don’t like Sathya Sai, please refrain from tweeting about him.You will do a favour to the sentiments of 300 million humans…” said SivaChandan (SATHYA SIVA CHANDAN).

Meanwhile, the Baba’s own Twitter page “http://twitter.com/#!/Sathya_Sai_Baba”, which describes him as “the Absolute Avatar Expanding Truth, Love, Peace, Right Conduct and Non-Violence and provides a link to his website : www.sathyasai.org, had its last tweet dated March 29.

“When Truth is joined with Love, that is the Light of God. - Sathya Sai Baba,” it said.

The account had 26 tweets and 2,167 followers.
