Islamabad, Aug 21 (Xinhua) At least 45 people were killed and 60 injured in two suicide blasts in Pakistan’s Punjab province Thursday, the state-run PTV reported. The blasts occurred outside the arms factory at Wah Cantonment, 50 km northwest of Islamabad, said the report.

The blasts took place at a time when the factory shift was changing and a large number of workers were either leaving or arriving at the high security area.

The news channel quoted Rawalpindi police officer Nasir Khan as saying that the blasts, suspected to be engineered by suicide bombers, targeted the workers.

Two bodies were seen lying on the ground and security forces said they might be those of the suspected attackers.

The injured have been shifted to hospitals and security forces cordoned off the area of the blasts.

Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani strongly condemned the bomb blasts and directed the authorities to make efforts to expose those responsible for the killings.

On Tueaday, a suicide bomber blew himself up at a hospital in Dera Ismail Khan in the North West Frontier Province, killing at least 23 people and injuring 15 others.
