Twin blasts in Iraq kill one, injure 10

Baghdad, Oct 30 (DPA) One person was killed and at least 10 injured in twin blasts that rocked the Iraqi capital Thursday, the Voices of Iraq (VOI) news agency reported. In the first blast a car bomb exploded in a market place in northestern al-Hurria district. The explosion killed a civilian and wounded five, a police source said.

In the second blast, a bomb went off targeting a police patrol in al-Fadiliya district in the capital’s east. Five people, including three policemen, were injured in the explosion, according to the source.

In a separate incident in northern Salahaddin province, a car filled with explosives targeted a number of oil tankers belonging to the Kurdish security forces in Albo Ajeil village. A Kurdish policeman was injured in the attack.
