Tug sinks, one killed ,six missing in Gujarat
January 22nd, 2011 - 4:32 pm ICT by IANSGandhinagar, Jan 22 (IANS) A survey tug with 32 people on board sank in the seas of the Pipavav port in Gujarat’s Saurashtra region Saturday.According to the Coast Guard sources, one person is reported to have died while 25 people have been rescued. Six others are still missing. However, confirmation is awaited.
The tug, Logo Searcher, of a private company, sank about 25 nautical miles off the Pipavav port. The survivors were picked up by the vessels in the area. A search operation is on and the Coast Guard is coordinating the effort.
