Trooper dies after gun goes off in Srinagar
December 3rd, 2009 - 10:13 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Srinagar, Dec 3 (IANS) A paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper was killed after his automatic service rifle went off accidentally inside a CRPF camp in this summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir Thursday, police said.
A senior police officer said constable K.C. Saikia of 25th battalion of the CRPF was critically injured after his gun went off inside the camp at Jawahar Nagar Thursday afternoon.
“He was immediately rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injury,” the officer said.
Senior CRPF officers visited the camp after the incident.
