Kolkata, May 31 (IANS) The Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government Tuesday slammed former chief minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee for criticising the government and termed it as a bid to disturb peace in the state.
“The peace and harmony of the state which has been created will be protected at all cost. We will not allow anybody to destroy the peace. Maligning campaigns will not reap any results,” said Partha Chatterjee while interacting with reporters.
Bhattacharjee while addressing a public here slammed the Trinamool Congress for perpetrating violence against Left workers.
He alleged that the Trinamool and police were working on raiding Communist Party of India- Marxist (CPI-M) party offices and recovering “planted” arms and ammunitions.
“Provocative body language and maligning campaigns will not do any good we will bring the much awaited development in the state,” said Chatterjee.
Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee without naming anyone said she felt pity for those who had become impatient and would forgive them.
“I feel pity for them who have become impatient. I would like to forgive them. The new government has completed 10 days only,” said Banerjee.
