Transformer explodes, three die
December 30th, 2011 - 7:33 pm ICT by IANSBaghpat (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 30 (IANS) Three school-going girls were killed instantly when a transformer exploded in an Uttar Pradesh village Friday, police said.
Rubi, Lavi and Shivani were passing by the area in Soop village in this district when the transformer burst and hot oil leaking from it splashed on the unsuspecting girls.
All three were from the village and studied in Class 10, 12 and 3 respectively. They died instantly. Two other girls were taken to a medical centre.
The district administration announced an ex-gratia of Rs.1 lakh to the families of the deceased.
