Train crushes woman, child
February 3rd, 2012 - 10:44 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 3 (IANS) A young woman and her two-year-old daughter were killed when the mother jumped before a speeding train with the baby in her arms, police said Friday.
The incident took place at the Shahdara railway bridge in east Delhi at around 9.10 p.m Thursday, Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime and Railways) B.S. Gurjar said.
“The woman, in her mid-20s, and the child were crushed by the train,” he said.
According to police, the woman, who lived in Jyoti Nagar in east Delhi, was reportedly upset because of domestic unrest.
