Trader looted of Rs.16 lakh in Ghaziabad (Lead)
May 16th, 2011 - 9:58 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, May 16 (IANS) Unidentified men Monday looted Rs.16 lakh from a scrap trader at gun point here, police said.
Fakhruddin, a resident of Hindon Vihar locality, came to IDBI Bank branch at Rajnagar District Centre with his accountant Mushkan. The trader withdrew the cash and was coming out when the accountant said she had forgotten her keys in the bank and went back to fetch them.
At this moment two men on a motorcycle came, snatched the trader’s bag and sped away. The trader said that the robbers had a chemical whose fumes made him unconscious.
The bag contained Rs.16 lakh in cash, said Superintendent of Police J.K. Shahi.
Senior sub-inspector Jitendra Kumar Singh said: “He remained unconscious for about 10 minutes. Passers-by took him to Sarvodaya Hospital from where he was discharged after first aid.”
