Tourist killed in accident
June 2nd, 2011 - 12:08 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, June 1 (IANS) A 56-year-old woman from Gujarat was killed and one of her relatives injured after a tourist bus hit them here outside a monument in south Delhi, police said Wednesday.
Jai Shree Ben Mehta along with her sister-in-law Naina Ben Mehta and two other family members were in Delhi for sight-seeing.
“They were walking near the Lotus Temple after coming out of the monument around 5.30 p.m. A tourist bus, whose brakes had failed, hit them after ramming into an auto-rickshaw. Jai Shree Ben Mehta died on way to hospital,” said a senior police officer.
“We have impounded the bus and a hunt is on for the absconding driver,” said the officer.
