Top police officials discuss Republic Day security
January 18th, 2011 - 10:33 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 18 (IANS) In the run up to the Republic Day, top police officials from the National Capital Region (NCR) Tuesday reviewed the security arrangements and coordination between the security forces acting on intelligence inputs.The meeting was attended by officials from Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad and Noida and was chaired by Delhi Police Commissioner B.K. Gupta at the Delhi Police Headquarters.
“Information regarding interstate criminals was shared between the officers and a plan to launch joint operations against them was also chalked out,” a police official said.
In the discussions, it was agreed upon to have an improved coordination which included the sharing of information on criminals and stringent checking at borders, the official added.
According to the official, topics like assisting each other in raids, joint checking at borders especially of commercial vehicles, arresting proclaimed offenders and keeping a strict vigil on criminals released from jail were also discussed.
A similar meeting was held between the top officials Dec 15, 2010.
