Divisional Forest Officer Ganesh Bhatt said the tigress might have been hit by a heavy vehicle as the carcass was found along a highway that passes through Kishanpur sanctuary of the reserve.
“The body will be sent to the Indian Veterinary Research Institute (Bareilly) for autopsy,” he said.
Dudhwa, one of the country’s largest tiger reserves, has over 106 tigers, and is some 140 km from Lucknow.
