Tiger kills woman in Maharashtra
May 22nd, 2011 - 9:25 pm ICT by IANSNagpur, May 22 (IANS) A tiger attacked and killed a woman in a jungle near this Maharashtra city, police said Sunday.
“Leelabai Shinde, 40, and her husband Dhanraj had gone to collect tendu leaves (used to make beedis) in the jungle close to her village Dehgaon,” a police officer said.
“When Leelabai was collecting the leaves, a tiger attacked her and killed her. Dhanraj, was saved as he was away from the spot,” the officer added.
