Tiger cub dies in Bhopal
November 22nd, 2011 - 11:59 pm ICT by IANSBhopal, Nov 22 (IANS) The surviving cub of a tigress who had given birth to two cubs Sunday, one of which was stillborn, has died, officials said Tuesday.
The cub died Monday night. A post-mortem of the carcass showed the death occurred due to asphyxiation.
According to experts, nine-year-old Basni could have handled her cub improperly, which led to the death.
Basni had given birth to two cubs April 22 as well. Both the cubs had died. At present, the movements of Basni are being monitored through CCTV cameras.
