Dharamsala, Sep 1 (IANS) The Tibetan government-in-exile has given a grant of Rs.1 million to the Bihar government for carrying out relief and rehabilitation work in the flood-affected areas, an official statement said Monday.Tibetan spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama sent a letter to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar which said: “I am saddened that floods in Bihar have wreaked havoc. Therefore, I am sending you a donation of Rs.1 million towards relief work. I would also like to offer my prayers for those whose lives have been lost and properties destroyed.”
The flood situation in Bihar continued to remain grim on the 15th day of the floods Monday. Over 2.5 millions people have been displaced by the floods.
