Three UAE sailors rescued at sea
October 29th, 2011 - 9:20 pm ICT by IANSAbu Dhabi, Oct 29 (IANS/WAM) Three men from the United Arab Emirates (UAE), who were lost at sea after their boat sank, have been rescued 20 km off Saadiyat island in Abu Dhabi.
On Friday night, the Abu Dhabi Police Air Wing dispatched two search and rescue aircraft from the Al Bateen airbase when notified about the incident. The search operation was carried out in coordination with boats from the Critical National Infrastructure Authority.
Around two hours later, the aircraft, equipped with night vision devices, spotted the three exhausted men. They were immediately taken to safety onboard the rescue boats.
