New Delhi, June 16 (IANS) Although they are not sure about their release, three prisoners at the Tihar Jail here, including a murder convict, are burning the midnight oil preparing for the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) examination.

The three are Siddharth Singh Sidar from Chhattisgarh, an IIT Kharagpur alumnus jailed for cheating, Amit Jha from Bihar, charged with kidnapping, and Sandeep of Uttar Pradesh, who is serving life imprisonment for murder.

“All three are toiling hard. With no coaching centres, they are following the self-study method,” a Tihar Jail official said.

“The three appeared for the civil services preliminary examinations June 12. Two are under trial and one is a convict. We are extending all possible help as far as study materials are concerned,” said the official.
