Three stone quarry workers killed in Goa
January 18th, 2012 - 1:26 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Panaji, Jan 17 (IANS) Three stone quarry workers died Tuesday following a sudden mudslide in Quepem, 60 km from the Goa capital, police said.
The accident occurred in the afternoon when during a gelatin blasting operation, a mudslide trapped three workers — Jaban Velip, 24, Suresh Kusht, 25, and Sandip Gaonkar, 24.
The bodies were fished out around 9.30 p.m. after heavy excavation machinery was brought in, police said.
Police filed a case under section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
