Three shot dead by drunk men at Uttar Pradesh wedding
November 30th, 2008 - 5:20 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Lucknow, Nov 30 (IANS) Three people were shot dead and two got critically injured when four inebriated young men indiscriminately opened fire at a marriage ceremony in Uttar Pradesh, the police said.The incident took place late Saturday night after a group of people asked the four young men to “mind their language” at the wedding ceremony in Hathras distict, about 350 km from here.
“The youth were asked to mind their language and behave properly. Irked at this, they opened fire at the entrance of the marriage hall,” additional superintendent of police S.P. Dwivedi told IANS by telephone.
Later while rushing towards their Indica car, the assailants again indiscriminately fired at the gathering.
“While three people died on the spot, two others are critically injured and have been referred to Agra for further treatment,” he added.
A case has been registered against the unidentified young men.
