Three shops gutted in Chandni Chowk fire
January 15th, 2011 - 12:06 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 14 (IANS) Three saree shops were gutted in a blaze in Chandni Chowk in the city’s old quarters Friday evening, an official said.”We received the call at around 7.30 p.m. and we rushed seven fire tenders to the spot. The flames were put out within half an hour,” a fire bridage official said.
No one was injured in the incident. The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short-circuit, the official added.
