Three sentenced to life for killing shoe baron
September 21st, 2011 - 7:27 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, Sep 21 (IANS) A Jharkhand court Wednesday awarded life terms to three people convicted for killing Ashish Dey, owner of footwear brand Sreeleathers, four years ago.
Jamshedupur Additional District Judge Pankaj Kumar sentenced Jitendra Singh, Amlesh Singh and Vinod Singh and fined them Rs.10,000 each. They were convicted Saturday.
Two other accused, Akhilesh Singh and Bikram Singh, are still absconding.
Dey was killed Nov 2, 2007, while he was going to office in steel city Jamshedpur. A land dispute is said to be the reason behind the murder.
