December 1st, 2011 - 1:10 pm ICT by IANSLucknow, Dec 1 (IANS) A couple and their three-year-old daughter were found with their throats slit at their home in Uttar Pradesh Thursday, police said.
Jai Singh Katiyar, 40, a businessman, his wife Pallavi, 36, and daughter Honey, 3, were found murdered at their residence in Taithai town, some 150 km from Lucknow, in Kannauj district, police said.
The murder was detected by locals after a foul smell started emanating from Katiyar’s residence.
“As of now, we cannot ascertain the motive behind the killings,” police inspector R.K. Singh told reporters in Kannauj.
“However, as cash and valuable items are intact we can say the killings were not committed for robbery,” he added.
